Project High Guard leads to 128 charges; police recover 15 stolen vehicles worth C$1.4 million
TORONTO: Six men reported to be of Indian origin are among 10 people arrested by Canada’s Peel Regional Police under Project High Guard, an investigation into violent carjackings and luxury vehicle thefts across the Greater Toronto Area.

The six are Ekamveer Randhawa, Shan Dhindsa, Aryan Deol, Manavjot Dhaliwal, Madhumeet Randhawa and Parth Sharma. Although several have Punjabi names, police have not confirmed their birthplaces or connections to Punjab, making it premature to identify all six as Punjabis.

Police announced that the operation resulted in 128 charges, the recovery of 15 stolen vehicles worth approximately C$1.4 million, and the seizure of four illegal firearms, ammunition and magazines.

The investigation examined 21 vehicle theft and carjacking incidents between June 2025 and April 2026. Police allege that knives and firearms were used to threaten victims during some incidents. Several victims were physically assaulted, with some suffering serious injuries.

Investigators said they uncovered a coordinated criminal network whose members allegedly identified vehicles, organised robberies, recruited younger offenders and arranged the sale of stolen vehicles.

Coordinated searches on September 3 led to the arrests. The results were announced on October 19.

According to the updated police charge sheet, Ekamveer Randhawa, 20, of Caledon, faces 19 charges, including robbery, firearms offences, conspiracy and offences relating to an alleged criminal organisation.

Shan Dhindsa, 21, of Brampton, faces 20 charges, including robbery, conspiracy, possession of stolen property and possession of electronic devices suitable for committing motor vehicle theft.

Aryan Deol, 20, of Brampton, faces 10 charges, including aggravated assault, robbery, conspiracy and offences connected with an alleged criminal organisation.

Manavjot Dhaliwal, 24, of Brampton, faces eight charges, including robbery, conspiracy, possession of stolen property and trafficking-related offences.

Parth Sharma, 21, of Oakville, faces four charges, including robbery, wearing a disguise with intent, possession of stolen property and driving while prohibited.

Madhumeet Randhawa, 37, of Brampton, faces a single charge concerning the careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition. He has not been charged with robbery in the released charge sheet.

The other accused are Tayvien Coley, 19, of Halton Hills, who faces 44 charges, and Gregory Seniv, 37, of Mississauga, who faces two stolen-property charges.

Two 17-year-olds from Brampton and Mississauga also face charges. Their identities have not been released.

Peel Police Chief Nishan Duraiappah said investigators had identified not only those allegedly carrying out the robberies but also individuals suspected of directing and benefiting from them.

The Ontario Provincial Police and police services from Toronto, Halton and Hamilton assisted the operation.

The investigation remains ongoing. All charges are allegations and have not been proven in court.
